Tea & A Chat

February 7, 2012

I felt inspired by Casey Leigh to invite you for a chat.

If you came to my house…

I’d offer you coffee or tea. I could make you a latte with my fancy espresso machine or we could simply have a cup of Tetley’s with milk. I usually have a few types of tea around , so you could have your pick!

I’d have to keep an eye on our yellow lab Halo, who likes to jump up on people. To be completely honest, he’d probably sneak in the chance to hump you once or twice (at least). He gets a little over-excited when we have visitors around. Once we sit down, he’ll calm down and probably sleep on the floor close to us.

I’d tell you that I am starting to hope for children more than I’ve ever done before. That doesn’t mean it will happen anytime soon, but I’m ready to admit to the longing.

I’d tell you that I feel like I am entering a new season in my life, but I’m unsure of what it means. I am more restless than usual and feel a bit unsettled, but it is okay. I’d tell you that I am trusting God.

I’d tell you that my heart aches for my niece and nephew at times. I wish I wasn’t so far away from them.

I’d tell you that I am so glad that Ben’s store is doing well, but that I miss having him at home more. I know his current work schedule will ease up eventually and I like having the time I have to work on my own projects. However, it doesn’t take away the fact that I miss him. Prayers would be welcome.

I’d tell you that I am constantly amazed at how much I really love interior design and that I feel like I have found the medium that I mostly want to express my creativity through. I worry about not being good enough, but I am also happy to just be learning for now.

I’d tell you that one big question on my mind lately has been how I can be a bigger blessing to those around me. I am trusting God to lead me on this one and I am listening for his still, small voice to guide me.

I’d tell you that one of the best moments in the past couple of weeks was when I was there when a friend proposed to his girlfriend. And that I am thrilled to be asked to be in their wedding. In the short time I’ve known them, they have come to have a special place in my heart.

I’d ask you what is on your heart. What is going on in your life? What are you hoping for at the moment? What are you struggling with?

I’d thank you for listening and I’d tell you how glad I am that we got to spend time together.

I’d give you a hug before waving good-bye. Let’s do this again?

This is super sweet! I love the idea. I might have to invite you for a chat as well :)
I totally understand your longing/hoping for children. DAB and I have only been married for eight months, but I’d be lying if I told you I didn’t think about kids more than just from time to time. I will pray for Ben’s store and your time together. I totally sympathize.

This is such a cute idea! I’m sure Halo and I would be BFFs. I’d probably end up sitting on the floor with him!

Well, I’m with everyone else- I love this! I feel like I have just spent time with you sipping hot beverages and talking about life.

I love “hearing” about the things God is doing in your life- the way your trusting Him, even in confusing circumstances. That’s what I’m trying to do right now.

Oh, I’m so glad to hear things are going better for your husbands store. But sorry you are lonely!
