Guest Post by Arcadian Lighting: Lovely Monday, Lovely Chandeliers

August 22, 2011

As you know, I love love love chandeliers and today I have a special treat for you: A guest post from Joanna, a writer for Arcadian Lighting, a must-shop resource for beautiful light fixtures. She shows us some beautiful examples of what a chandelier can do for a room:

Of all the myriad of choices in light fixtures on the market, the chandelier stands out–giving a special touch of whimsy to any room of the home. We love them crowning a dining table, lighting a living area and sparkling in a grand entry. From tiny to expansive, these ornate lights have been illuminating homes since medieval times. Truth be told, we had a hard time choosing just eight of these decorative beauties, but here they are in all their glory.

Oh so feminine and fun, this pink octopus chandelier with pearl drops perfectly lights a mermaid themed room designed by Adam Wallacavage for his Philadelphia home.

Suspended above a formal dining set, an eclectic chandelier with a large blue globe is flanked by six arms holding candle lights with shades. The light fixture gives a modern touch to an otherwise traditional dÈcor.

A magnificent coral chandelier adds a touch of the coast to a red and white striped banquette. Chandeliers such as this one soften the formality of the space’s structure and furnishings.

Pretty matching seashell chandeliers hang at either side of a romantic country bed–a perfect twist on the traditional bedside lamps.

An antique chandelier with multiple tiers carries the elegance of the room all the way to the high ceiling. A patinaed floor mirror reflects the light fixture in all its glory.

A dramatic black chandelier creates an unexpected focal point in this gray and black bedroom. The size of the lighting fixture balances the heavy curtained wall behind the bed.

Petit and pretty, this chandelier plays nicely in a French country bath. Chandeliers such as this one would also add a playful touch above a tub or in a small powder room.

Imagine the beauty of this enthusiastic chandelier illuminating the space at night time. An over the top ornate lighting fixture†such as this can boost a living roomís appeal with the flip of a switch.

I LOVE the pink chandelier! I have never seen one like that! I am also a fan of the small ones for the bathroom. They make the room look a bit more dressed up :)
