I See You
I don’t really remember how it started. I think it was Ben who started saying it, but at the moment it is one of my favorite things to say to Aiden: “I see you.” It makes him smile big. At four months, he looks up at us intently and expectantly. Even when he’s playing, I notice that he looks at me regularly and when I turn to him to give him my full attention, he looks so delighted. When we go grocery shopping together, he’s in his car seat on top of the grocery cart and stares at me. When I lean over and tell him: “I see you,” he smiles. I want him to know that I see him. I want him to always feel seen around me.
It’s amazing how seeing them smile becomes the highlight of your day. No matter how much I can accomplish in 24 hours, making Rat smile (or better yet, laugh) automatically becomes the best thing I’ve done all day.
He is absolutely GORGEOUS! That boy’s got great cheeks.
It’s so true! Making a baby smile (especially your own!) feels like such an amazing accomplishment. And thank you. :) Gotta love chubby baby cheeks!
Chubby baby cheeks are my favorite!
What a beautiful blog! You cannot beat a babies smile :)
What a beautiful baby! I am the father of nine and everyone of them are a precious blessing. My oldest daughter just recently had a baby and named him Aiden. Enjoy your baby!
