Lovely Monday, Lovely Airy Rooms

July 25, 2011

We are in the middle of a heat wave right now in Ontario. Mercifully, it cooled down to below 30 degrees Celcius today (it was 29). It wouldn’t be such a problem if our central air was working…alas, it is not. We are not replacing it this Summer and are getting by with a portable a/c unit and a fan…so my brain is feeling a bit fried at the moment, not from over-exertion but literal overheating…

I figure that whether the weather where you are is hot or not so much, it is always refreshing to look at rooms that feel airy and light. Here are a few that have caught my eye lately:

Hope your week has started off well! Stay cool & inspired. :)

Lovely! It’s nice to see a room full of books looking airy — that’s hard to pull off!

LOVE all of those pictures! The first one just seems so perfect for an afternoon nap! (Oh and I can’t wait to open my email, I saw I got it on my phone!)

Gorgeous interiors! There is something about a wall of books that makes me want to sing! Books can be artful just to look at when they are stacked; a collection of color and varying sizes…. not to mention the joy of curling up in the corner with a great book. Love all of these rooms. Great interior design, whether tradition or contemporary, can pull off the color white with ease. Love!

I really love the second one — the couch, the pillows, the rug, and especially the window!

I really love the room with the surprisingly soft colored brick wall. It has such a nice Matte finish. I wonder how they did that?!
