Mini Lamp Makeover

June 22, 2011

It’s one of those tings…

I want to buy a replacement for this pendant light that’s hanging in our dining room/kitchen table, but there are many other priorities for spending money on before we’ll get to this. So…it was time to make-do, which coincidentally is something I love to do. (Almost as much as going out and buying a shiny new thing…sometimes even more.)

So, the light that came with the house wasn’t bad. It’s just that it was generic.

I used Rustoleum flat white paint to spray paint the glass and the chrome top.

I know it may not make that much difference to someone else, but I really like it a lot better. It’s hard to see in the photo, but the matte texture looks fantastic. Because the top is white too now, the shape doesn’t seem as generic anymore. And the bright white adds a bit of extra luminosity to our dining room.

I think it has more character now, I love this ‘all white’ loo.
When you speak of ‘buying a shiny new thing’ do you mean a diamond?
