Family Man Kitchen Accessorized

January 8, 2011

Last week, I posted about the kitchen I saw in the movie Family Man. I thought it would be fun to play around with the color palette of their teal and taupe kitchen and exercise my design muscles. I put together this board with things I love and would use to add some pizazz to their already cute kitchen.

Here’s a reminder of what we’re working with:

Taupe, Teal and Peacock Blue

And another look at the kitchen:

Here are some ideas:

Family Man Kitchen

Love those bistro bar stools (also come as dining chairs) for their island. Restoration Hardware $149 each.
The Ikat Blue and Lavender Fields dishtowel are from Crate&Barrel.
The industrial pendants with a galvanized finish would be great over their island. Barnlight Electric, $99 each.
The French Sideboard and Hutch is from Restoration Hardware for $1795.
The Bistro Glassware is from Pottery Barn, $24-$36, depending on size, for a set of 12.
The teal stoneware is from Le Creuset, prices vary depending on item.
Teal Serving Bowl from Target, $27.99.
The faucet is from Hope Depot for $149.
The sink is also from Home Depot, for $655.71.

To dress up the windows, I like this Blue Chevron fabric from fabric.com for roman shades or drapes for the windows:

And also this rug from House Accents:

Crate&Barrel carries these teal dishes, which would be great for everyday use and the decorated plates to dress them up a bit:

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
